Battle Wrapup
Reporting of all NBT-Solaris battles is handled by the automation at the end of the night. The log files from all active servers are uploaded and parsed for each drop. From that parse we are able to determine Survivor, Kills and Damage (taken and given), the data that determines all awards, repair fees and winners. It also is used as the basis for finishing out match bets placed through OTB.
Match Awards
NBT-Solaris is unique in that winnings are based on 3 factors that occur in a match: Survivor, Kills and Damage. Surviving the match is not necessarily the most lucrative path available, as the Survivor is not guaranteed to make the most money on a match.
All factors use a 4th figure to determine the scale of winnings granted, called Rank Average Modifier (RAM). RAM is determined by adding together all the Solaris Ranks of the characters involved, and averaging them out. That figure is then used as a basis for a multiplier for all winnings. The multiplier ranges from 1 to 5. The higher the RAM, the higher the winnings. This is to help promote characters of similar rank dropping together.
Match Survivor
The Match Survivor is the Last Man Standing. This may be accomplished by whatever means required. In the rare case that the last 2 ‘Mechs fighting blow each other up, no Match Survivor Award will be applied. Also, only a single Match Survivor Award is given per match. Therefore if 2 ‘Mechs are left standing when time expires, no award is given. This is also the Award that determines Solaris Rank advancement.
- Match Survivor Award - RAM x 125,000 c-bills
- Solaris Rank Advancement - +1 Solaris Rank per 2 Match Survivals
‘Mech Kills
A ‘Mech Kill is any ‘Mech that the game awards you the kill for. This may be by direct fire, explosion, collision or just looking at funny. You will receive an award for each kill in the current match.
- ‘Mech Kill Award - RAM x 100,000 c-bills per ‘Mech Kill
Damage Given
As you hit enemy ‘Mechs your Damage Given Award increases. As long as you are inflicting damage, by whatever means necessary, those points are counted towards your determined winnings. There are several things to keep in mind here: This is vastly different from score, as it is not modified based on what ‘Mech you are using. This number is based on the actual damage inflicted, not what you may have fired. Therefore reflective or reactive armor will change the way your damage score increases.
- Damage Awards - RAM x 375 c-bills per damage point inflicted
Special Modifiers
Some matches have special rules applied to them, and as such are given bonuses or penalties to the Awards. Some matches will have a Special Award to be given to the participant with the highest winnings. This may take the form of something tangible for Solaris (a ‘Mech or cash award) or it may be a role-play development the character can make use of (vehicle, special housing, trait or skill).
- Stock Match - All winnings are increased by 10%
- Clan Tech Access - Winning a match may allow a pilot to immediately purchase a Clan ‘Mech.
- Championship Matches - The top 3 rankers in each Champion Match will receive the following:
- 1st Place - 1 million c-bills
- 2nd Place - 750,000 c-bills
- 3rd Place - 500,000 c-bills
- Grand Championship Match - The top 3 Survivors of the Grand Champion Match will receive the following:
- 1st Place - 3 million c-bills; Access to purchase a single Clan ‘Mech (if funds are available)
- 2nd Place - 2 million c-bills
- 3rd Place - 1 million c-bills
- To be expanded.....
Team Battle Awards
In figuring the total awards for a Team Battle Match, all of the above rules apply. The change is that the awards are then split evening between all members of the Stable. Thus if 2 members of a 5 member stable fight in a TB Match, winning 1 million c-bills, each member of that stable will receive a 200,000 c-bill award.
‘Mech Damage & Repair
After each match the damage taken by your ‘Mech is totaled and then applied to your ‘Mech. As with determining Damage Given, ‘Mech Damage is determined by actual damage done, not the damage of the fired weapon. Special armor types can increase or decrease the amount of damage done to your ‘Mech.
Suicides and Disconnects are handled a little differently than the MW4 logs present. Any ‘Mech that suicides/disconnects will have damage applied to them equal to the full Center Torso and Head armor of the ‘Mech. This can range from 57-171 points of damage, on top of any damage received in the match up till that point.
It is then your responsibility to pay for the repairs to your ‘Mech to make is usable for Solaris Matches once again. A ‘Mech must be running at 100% to be usable in your next match. There are two additional possibilities at this point as well. If your ‘Mech has received over 75% damage, then there is a chance that the ‘Mech is beyond repair and will have to be scrapped, and/or that your character was wounded in some way. Likewise, if your ‘Mech has received over 95% damage (that is a LOT of damage), the possibility exists that your character was killed in the battle.
Repair costs are auto-deducted at the end of a match as long as you have the funds available. If insufficient funds are available, your ‘Mech will no longer be usable in Solaris Matches until it has been repaired.
- Standard Repair Rate - 125-500 c-bills per point of damage
- 75% ‘Mech Damage - 5% chance of ‘Mech destruction; 10% chance of character being wounded
- 95% ‘Mech Damage - 10% chance of character being killed.
Public Match Results & Rankings
The results of all matches are public domain. The Solaris Events Calendar and Solaris News Service will display the results of each match fought in NBT-Solaris. This includes participants, damage numbers, kills data, Survivor, and total Match Awards. In your Pilot Automation you may review all matches that your character has participated in with a detailed breakdown of awards and penalties.
All Awards, Modifiers, Bonuses and Character Development are applied and posted at the end of the night when all logs are parsed. In your Pilot Automation you may review all matches that your character has participated in with a detailed breakdown of awards and penalties.
Match ‘Winners’
Each match will have 4 ‘winners’ listed. These will be Survivor, ’Mech Killer, Destroyer and Cash Cow. During the course of the season, the top rankers in each catagory will be listed and updated based on their performance in league matches. You may also search by Character Name / Callsign to pull up their current rankings in each catagory.
Match Bets (OTB)
At the end of the night all winnings from Match Bets are awarded to the gamblers involved. This concept is pending at this time. Please see Solaris OTB Rules for more details.
