NBT-CD Packages: NBT-CD1 & NBT-CD2

NBT has compiled for easy download 2 CD's worth of data for use by those participating in NBT. Included in these 2 CD's are all the patches, packs, maps and terrains detailed below, as well as around another 20 maps by various map teams that are included within NBT-Solaris and NBT-HC. By downloading and installing these 2 CD's, a fresh install of MW4: Mercenaries can be brought up to league legal status within minutes, rather than dealing with dozens of downloads and install procedures. The total size of the combined CD's is around 1 GB of data. After installing these 2 packages, the only additional download you will need will be the NBT Updater which will install the HC Client.

Addendum: There is a seperate map package that has been added to the league as of June '06. Please note below for download options.

Required League Downloads

The following is a list of all current patch and map downloads required for league play within NBT-HardCore.  Each pilot must download the following files and install them on their system.  The NBT-CD packages above make this process much easier, with the only seperate required download being the actual HC Client. If you choose to do the process manually/seperately, installation instructions are included for each file. We have added a Tutorial for the installation of these maps: Map Installation Tutorial.  The FP/FilePlanet links below will direct you to the FilePlanet download site. For the larger files you can request them on CD from FilePlanet for a nominal charge.

If you have problems installing any of the patches or packs below, please feel free to ask questions in the League Technology forum on the HPG, or in the #nbt-social channel on IRC.

The below may look very daunting to new users. The short version of the installation process is as follows:

• Install MW4: Mercs
• Install NBT-CD 1 & NBT-CD2
• PR1
• MP2.1a or MP3.x
• NBT Updater (will auto-update HC)
• Additional maps can be installed at anytime

Though the HC Client has been released, the HCB project is continuing on through a series of Booster Packs, planned for release each month. In order to install, test and play HCB you will need to have a clean MPx installation. You may then install the latest HCBx package. This expansion will install into the same directory as your HC or MPx installation. For further details, please click on the link below for installation instructions and ChangeLog.

Note: The HCB project is not necessary for participation within the NBT-HC league. It is for use by those wishing to help with the testing of the upcoming Booster Packs.

Please note: ALL of the patches below, with the exception of the HC Client, are included within the NBT-CD packages. If you have downloaded those packages, then you will only need to install those and then download the HC Client to be NBT ready.

• MW4: Mercs PR1 - Patch Release 1 for Mercs has been released.  It addresses the so-called “Fog Hack” & “Heat Bug” as well as a number of additional balancing and game stability issues.

• MekTek ‘Mech Pack 2 - A MekTek based expansion for MW4: Mercs. It includes over 20 new ‘Mechs, a host of new weapons, as well as a number of PRO maps. MP3.x is also available (though not in use by NBT). The HC Client will install over any version of MPx from MP2.1a forward.

• NBT-HC Client - NBT's own expansion to the current MW4 standard, bringing additional 'Mechs and weapons to the game, as well as a new balance and playstyle system. Future Booster Packs are already in the works as well.

• MekTek Vengeance / BK Map Pack - This map pack includes 17 original MW4:V maps and the 10 maps added with the MW4: BK expansion converted for use in Mercs. In order to use them, you will need to have the textures from MW4:V & BK copied/downloaded into your Mercs Maps directory.  Please make sure to follow the directions EXACTLY on the instructions page.
   
  GoTo: Vengeance / BK Stock Maps Conversions
   
• MercStorm League Map Pack - These are 7 maps created by MercStorm that use the terrains already present in MW4: Mercs. They include Coldfire, Crossover, Halthon, Orbital Decay, Ridgerunner, River Canyon and Warzone.

• AlphA Strike Studios Map Pack - These are 5 missions and custom terrains created by AlphA Strike.  They include Arrowhead, Battlefront, MaxThrottle, Tetsuhara and WarFortune (4 of these are Old Stomping Grounds maps). This is a large download.  56k connects should plan on using a download manager or request it on CD from a download site like FilePlanet.

• NewBattleFields Map Pack - These are 9 missions and custom terrains created by AlphA Strike.  They include Asteroid, Badlands, Cerberus, Divided, Krakatau, Mannedorf, Plains, Riverside and SolarDesert2.  This is a large download.  56k connects should plan on using a download manager or request it on CD from a download site like FilePlanet.  You may actually download a smaller set of files from the NewBattleFields site. The packs needed are: New Battlefields Multiplayer Missions Pack, New Battlefields Terrain Pack 1, New Battlefields Terrain Pack 2, New Battlefields Terrain Pack 3. Total file size for these separate downloads is 116MB.

• Magnus Map Compilation - These are 7 missions missions and custom terrains created by various artists associated with MP3.x. Magnus has compiled them into a HC package for our use. If you have MP3 installed, then you already have these maps, and do not need this package. If not, you can download them directly here, or they are available through the HC Auto-Updater, under the Available Packages tab.

• TeamSpeak - NBT recommends the usage of TeamSpeak 2.0 for game voice comms.  TS2 is active on the NBT VoiceComms server (voice.netbattletech.com). Simply download, install and connect.

• NBT-Servers - If you are interested in running a NBT style dedicated server, with MW4 Monitor, we have made available our Server Setup files. These files include all server cycles, NFMs and server.ini files needed to run a dedicated server, be it HC or MPx. This file is regularly updated as changes are made to the NBT Server bank.
