While it's probably under the radar of the liberals here she is waging a very successful campaign of conservative revival all across the country. She doesn't need the support of the 40% who think socialism is the path to riches so it doesn't really matter what any of the socialists here or in the media think about her. The people who don't want to be taxed into oblivion are listening to her, giving her money and gathering together in a transformed political movement.

I'm sure you'll all be shocked when she turns out to be a national player of significance.

Ironically, the socialist state of Australia is doing quite well these days.

She is not "waging" any kind of campaign, she's attached herself to a grassroots conservative movement to boost her own status. The Tea Party movement will be ill served if they pick Palin as their figurehead.

Palin had the words "Energy", "Tax" and "Lift American Spirits" written on her hand during her speech at the Tea Party convention thing. The phrase "Budget cuts" is crossed out. There's a photo of her actually looking down at her hand on one of the questions.

What a strange thing.


This is also right after she finished mocking Obama for using a teleprompter.

Naysayers are going to realize too late that this will portray her as being just one of the people, that she is JUST LIKE them - fallible and normal. The ones that think they know what is best for Americans instead of executing their will. Democrats and Republicans alike.

Disparage her for her common-ness or for being crass and you make her preferable in the eyes of the hoi polloi.

I'll never understand why people want someone "just like them" as a leader. We've got 300 million people to pick from, why not get someone exceptional?

Exceptional people are too smart to run?

Well if you ever read his book, Obama comes from a pretty average background, but people consider him elitist.

He did go to Hah-vad, that makes him acceptable to the elitists, despite his average upbringing, like the Kennedys, born out of bootlegging - a different hoi polloi and standard.
